2008 Mercury Sable named Top Safety Pick
The 2008 Mercury Sable enters dealership showrooms this summer boasting ?Top Safety Pick? status by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety due to exemplary performance in front-, side- and rear-impact collisions combined with the availability of electronic stability control. Additionally, Sable achieved five-star crash ratings by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in all crash test categories. Along with the similar 2008 Ford Taurus, the Sable stands as the only large family car in the world to earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick and ace the NHTSA?s battery of tests.
Responsible safety features include a well designed vehicle crush zones, Safety Canopy airbags utilized in both side-impact and rollover collisions, advanced occupant classification systems and AdvanceTrac electronic stability control.

Mercury embarks on new computer enhanced advertising campaign
As a component of the company?s launch campaign for the redesigned 2008 Mariner SUV, Mercury has developed new television advertisements employing sophisticated computer-generated three-dimensional animation. In showing off the new car, areas of focus include the new design language and availability of hybrid-electric propulsion.
One ad called ?Sound Waves? features Mercury spokeswoman Jill Wagner asking, ?What happens when an idea strikes just the right note?? Upon striking the Mercury logo, what appear to be sound waves resonate to create a Mercury Mariner. Both exterior and interior features are highlighted.
Y&R Team Detroit developed the ad strategy, while Tight Films produced the television commercials.

Mercury Mountaineer SUV: What?s new for 2007
Having debuted in its third generation for 2006, the 2007 Mercury Mountaineer SUV enters the new model year with slight, yet significant, improvements. First, occupant safety was addressed via standard side curtain airbags on all Mercury Mountaineer models. Music lovers will enjoy the new standard auxiliary audio jack allowing seamless integration of iPods and other MP3 players. Cold-weather dwellers should opt for the new available heated windshield, capable of seriously reducing defrost time on those cold winter mornings.
The optional rear-seat DVD entertainment system gets a larger 8-inch screen for 2007, maximizing viewer enjoyment. Three new colors - White Chocolate Clearcoat Tri-Coat, Alloy Clearcoat Metallic and Dark Cherry Clearcoat Metallic ? will also become available, although the ?White Chocolate? shade is applied exclusively to Mercury Mountaineer Premier trim models.

Last month the upcoming 2008 Mercury Mariner and Mariner Hybrid debuted in Miama, FL at the 2006 South Florida International Auto Show. Scheduled to hit dealerships in early 2007, the new Mercury Mariner embodies design elements fundamental to future Mercury products.
A more prominent ?waterfall? chrome grille extends into the front bumper, redefining the front fascia as vertically oriented. A higher beltline emphasizes the mass of the body, while upgraded interior/exterior materials combine with ice blue interior lighting cues to provide opulent accommodation and technological marvel. Overall, more precisely executed details render the 2008 Mercury Mariner and Mariner Hybrid true upscale luxury-oriented vehicles.
